How does he do that? How does he hit the cymbal with his sticks?
ANSWER
Hi, Scott--
I was watching him on YouTube and and it seems pretty uncomplicated in the solo that I saw.
Just strike the cymbal(s) from underneath on the outer 1 inche and pull out with an outward and upward motion so that you get your sticks back up as the edge of the cymbal (toward you) rises and then down just before the cymbal is slanted again toward you.
