Tama Superstar serial # starting with 83...

Hi there, just wondering if the 83 means the year it came out. The kick says 83, the tom 84. Yes?

Yes, in general that is correct. Since the badges are made in batches, they may have been applied after the drums were made, which may be why the tom says 84 if they were purchased as a set.
