Tama superstar serial #

I just purchased some le blonde cases, and inside were four tama drums, one in each case. 22" kik; 13 & 14" rack toms and a 16" floor tom. Serial # all begin with 87. Floor tom is 87863, eg. What year are they please?

Hi, Ian--

It is generally accepted that the first two numbers indicate the year of manufacture. In this case, it would be 1987.
