Roto Tom Mounting

I have a set of Remo "Roto-Toms" on my current drumkit. Trouble is I'm not to happy with the linear rail mounting system. I'd like to break the three drums up and mount them in different locations on my kit. I really can't afford the RIMS mounts so I'm looking for an alternative method. Any ideas/tips?

You could try extending the size of your mounting rail. There are several sizes available. Also a rail to stand adapter plate is available:
