Plug acoustic-electric guitar in electric amp

Hi, i recently got an -acoustic-electric guitar and was wondering that if i plugged it into my old, electric guitar amp, will it ruin my acoustic-electric guitar.

It may not make your guitar sound the best that it can, but it won't hurt it.
