Marks onTom and Snare Heads and On Cymbals

Hey I just got a drum set and I play it a lot and there are already marks on my toms and snare and cymbals and some of them are black. Is that OK?

Congrats on your new drum set! The marks are going to happen--not much you can do. The black is probably just oxidation form the cymbals which was picked up by your sticks.

If your cymbals are used, you could try cleaning them with a good metal cleaner. Otherwise, just enjoy your set!
