How To Tune Your Bass

Match the Low E or 4th string to the second lowest E on the piano and then use this method for the other 3 strings:

**Place your finger on the 5th fret of the Low E string and then match the 3rd string to the pitch of the 5th fret on the low E string.

**Place your finger on the 5th fret of the 3rd string and then match the 2nd string to the pitch of the 5th fret on the 3rd string.

**Place your finger on the 5th fret of the 2nd string and then match the 1st string to the pitch of the 5th fret on the 2nd string.

Remember that the ability to tune well is gradually acquired as your ear becomes better able to hear the pitches. You learn to tune by TUNING. Keep trying--it will be important in the long run!
